A legacy of showing up
The Charles Henry Center proudly bears the name of Deondre Grier’s grandfather, Charles Henry Douglas.
Growing up in a small town, Deondre watched his grandmother care for children through her daycare while his grandfather became “Paw Paw” to nearly everyone around him.
He taught us that showing up consistently, treating people with dignity, and caring for others without expecting anything in return leaves a legacy that lasts far beyond a lifetime.
His example continues to shape the way we serve every person entrusted to our care.
